Herber
What started as simple curiosity—an occasional search for a name or a date—slowly became something much bigger over the last several year. About two years ago, this project reached an inflection point, and my approach shifted from “when I have time” to intentional and methodical. Since then, I’ve spent countless hours gathering artifacts, organizing details, and following family stories where they lead – the result is a rich collection of information that continues to grow.
Along the way, this research has kept drawing me back—geographically—to the places where our family stories unfolded. There’s something powerful about standing in the landscape itself, seeing the towns, roads, rivers, and horizons that formed the backdrop to these adventures, and imagining daily life as it was lived. Visiting these locations first-hand has deepened my understanding of how those moments and choices shaped the family we enjoy today.
It is a genuine privilege to preserve these pieces of our Herber history, and I’m grateful to share them with you here. Enjoy!
